
Domain name server make your blog address (URL) live in the internet. Once you purchase your domain name and hosting server you have to point the domain to the web hosting server. In this guide you will see how to update domain nameservers in different domain registrar.
When you purchase hosting server, you will received the email with the details of your hosting server where you will find the nameservers e.g. ns1.yourdomain.com and ns2.yourdomain.com. You need to update those nameservers in your domain manger to make your blog live in the internet.
If you have purchased your domain name from Namesilo, Namecheap or Godaddy domain registrar you can easily point your nameservers to your domain name. If your domain registrar is different then you may update the nameservers using same method.
Update Namesevers in Namesilo Domain Registrar
Login to your NameSilo account and click on “Domain Manager” from the right.

In next screen, you will see list of registered domains. “Select” the domain name and click on “Change Nameservers” icon at the top.

Copy the nameservers from your email send by hosting provider and paste it in “NameServer1” and “NameServer2” field. Click on “Submit” button.

Wait for 48 hours to propagate domain name completely.
Update Namesevers in NameCheap
Login to “Namecheap” account. From the dashboard click on “Manage” button at the right side of your domain name.

In next page, choose “Custom DNS” from drop-down box and paste the nameservers. Click on “Check” icon at the right to update.

It will take 48 hours to propagate.
Update Nameserver in GoDaddy
Login to GoDaddy domain registrar account. From “My Product” tab, click on “DNS” button of your domain name at the right side of the screen.

In next page, choose “Custom” from drop-down box and paste the nameservers in “Nameserver field”. Click on “Save” button. If you need, you can add more “nameserver field” clicking “Add Nameserver” button.

Your domain takes upto 48 hours to propagate.
Check Domain Name Propagation status
Allow your domain name upto 24-48 hours to propagate fully. Check your domain propagation status using DNSchecker.
Open dnschecker in your browser and type your “Domain Name”, Choose “NS” from drop-down box and click “Search” button. You will see “Green check” if your blog propagate completely.
