Method-1: How to Install WordPress plugin from admin panel?

Login to WordPress Dashboard, Hover mouse point on “Plugins” and click on “Add new”.

Type e.g.Yoast  SEO” in the search box at the right. You will see plugin at the beginning. Click on “Install Now” button. After completion of installation click on “Activate” button.

Method-2: How to Install WordPress plugin using “Upload” button?

Premium plugins are not listed in WordPress directory. Premium plugins need to download and install using “Upload” option in WordPress. In this tutorial, we will download free plugin from as an example and install using “Upload” button.

Download preferable plugin e.g.Jetpack” from and save it on the “Desktop” for easy access.

From WordPress admin panel, hover mouse pointer on “Plugins” and click on “Add New” button.

Again, click on “Upload plugin” then “Choose File” button.

From Open dialog box, “Select” downloaded plugin from the desktop and click on “Open” button.

Installation process will take a while to complete. Click on “Activate Plugin” button after completion.

Method-3: How to Install WordPress plugin manually using “FTP”?

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) client transfer the files from computer to web server. You can use FTP clients like FileZilla, Coreftp and CyberDuck (MAC) to upload files to the web server.

WordPress is installed in “Public_html” folder of the web server. All the plugins are installed inside “public_html>>wp-content>>plugins” folder.

Let’s get start:

Step-1: Download and Install FTP client FileZilla.

Step-2: Download WordPress plugins and extract.

Step-3: Transfer using FileZilla.

Download any of the plugin e.g.Jetpack” from and save it on your desktop for easy access.

Right-click on files and click on “Extract Here”.

Another “plugin folder” will create after extracting that need to transfer to the web server.

Step-3: Transfer using FileZilla.

Open FTP client “FileZilla” and connect using “FTP credentials”. If you do not know your FTP account details check steps below.

How to find FTP Accounts login credentials?

Your hosting provider send you account details in registered mail after purchasing hosting plan. You can also find FTP details in cPanel.

Login to the cPanel using Click on “FTP Account” under “Files”. Click on “Configure FTP Client” at the right side to expand. You will see FTP Username, FTP server (Host), FTP port (21) and password is cPanel default password.

Their are two section in FileZillaPC section” at the left and “Server section” at the right.

Open Public html

Double click on “public_html>>wp-content>>plugins” folder from “server section”. Now, Drag “plugins folder” that you have extracted from “PC section” and drop the folder to “server section”.

File Transfer will take few minutes. Login to WordPress Dashboard after completion. Hover on “Plugins” and click on “Installed plugins”. You will see recently transferred plugin e.g. Jetpack is installed. Now, click on “Activate” button.
